Ruhnu Estonian Braids at Swiss Yarn Festival

Knitted braids are the perfect embellishment for any project! The Baltic countries of Latvia and Estonia have many different styles of braids that have added interesting details to mittens, gloves, socks, and sweaters. Learn the about three styles of braids, the basic foundation, and experiment with color combinations and directionality.

BOOK YOUR SPOT

  • Advanced beginner / intermediate knitter; students should be comfortable to knit and purl in the round, cast-on, bind-off, and reading from charts.

  • US 6 / 4 mm needles for knitting small circumference (DPNs or circular needles for magic loop)

    DK-weight yarn in 3 contrasting colours, approx. 20g of each colour
