The Helmi hat draws inspiration from the iconic wooden pearl designs in Aarikka’s 70th anniversary Wooden Pearl collection. The wooden pearl lattice designs have been translated into a slipped stitch lattice pattern with Estonian nupp bobbles creating an easy and interesting knit. Aleks combined these stitch patterns to replicate Aarikka’s bold patterns using a bobble stitch traditionally used for fine lace as a striking textured stitch pattern.
