NARBETH MITTS
The striking weaving patterns of Wales and Estonia inspired this geometric design, which is named after a village in Wales filled with treasured woven textiles in antiques shops. It’s perfect for knitting a modern piece in bold colours, or going for a more subtle effect.

These mitts are knit in the round from the cuff up.
The cuff features 2 color corrugated ribbing and Latvian knitted braids. Corrugated ribbing is also used on the thumb.
The stitches for the thumb are knit in waste yarn in a contrasting colour. These are then picked up once the main part of the mitten is complete. Additional stitches are picked up either side of the thumb to close gaps.
Lock floats in sections where there are more than 7 stitches of one colour. This is done by crossing the floating yarn colour over the yarn used for knitting the next stitch.
